The 28th president spent a lot of his formative years right here in Augusta. It was here when he was a child and remembers Lincoln being nominated president and there would be a war. It was here his father was a preacher and they moved to the present new home around 1860 and stayed until 1870. a gorgeous home that has been well maintained is something you will want to roam thru the halls of while in augusta.
